Reverend Rowland Jide Macaulay, General Overseer Of House Of Rainbow Fellowship, First Ever Gay Church In Nigeria, Re-opens His Church. (See Videos Also)

Reverend Jide Macaulay has reopened his gay church, House of Rainbow, in Lagos.

He explains that its primary vision is to reach out to sexual minorities in Nigeria, UK, and around the world.

Rev Rowland Jide Macaulay is a confirmed and ordained Pastor who founded the House Of Rainbow Church in 2006. He openly held Sunday services in a Lagos hotel hall decked out with rainbow flags until the public revolted against the church.

He then returned to the UK after death threats.

"For me I have always been gay and I never became gay.

I became aware of my same sex attraction whilst living in Nigeria at the age of seven. Boys flirt with each other unknowing all the time and it was at this stage that I was more aware of my emotional, physical, mental and sexual attraction to boys.

I was 14 when I had my first sex with a guy, it was filled with curiosity  passion, embarrassment and guilt as with with any heterosexual having sex for the first time.

By this age I had become a youth leader in the church and had spent time reading the bible including discovering chapters that "condemned" homosexuality.

Imagine the furore of my life? Now I have to be discrete, secretive and live a lie. When I look back at my life it never stopped my same sex attractions.

Fast forward thirty years, I am now fully confident that being gay is my natural being and I regretted ever trying to be straight.

I regretted that I did not get the education and appropriate spiritual development to be a gay man. I can understand that and that is why I am determined that the short life I may live in this world I trust God for the development of inclusive Christian education to enable the freedom of the mind, body, soul and spirit.

Recently, my father asked me to prove that homosexuality is genetics. I just looked at him and pointed to myself, "ME" you made me, you gave birth to a homosexual boy he was anxious to know more, so I asked him to prove to me that God is real, not that I don't know but if we were to play "doubting Thomas", lets lay all the cards out.

My homosexuality is real, I am gay and I did not become gay, just like I am black and I did not become black. This is a great way to move forward in life and let the world know that they may hate us but God Adores Us.

House Of Rainbow Fellowship is an inclusive Christian community, that welcomes all people and does not discriminate against LGBTI people (of faith or no faith).

I am proud that the Holy Spirit has led me to start this group, (nearly five years). We are growing with passion and relevance and it is my hope that we would be able to advance the learning and inclusion of all people.

I love myself and it is my daily prayer and hope that millions of LGBTI people around the world, their friends and families will come to understand and love them."

Anambra State - Nnewi: Mother And Her 6-Year-Old Son Doused With Acid By Angry Neighbour (VDA)

Thirty-two-year-old mother of five, Mrs Chinwe Ozoemena and her six-year-old son are now writhing in pains at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital (NAUTH), Nnewi, Anambra State as their neighbour at Nkwo Nnewi market allegedly bathed them with acid. The incident happened last Saturday.

According to a family source, the woman and her little boy had closed business for the day on that fateful evening and were about leaving the market. But unknown to them, their attacker was lurking around the shops, waiting for them with undiluted acid.

Daily Sun was told that as soon as the suspect who was allegedly not in good terms with the Ozoemenas sighted the victims, he advanced towards them “which made the victims’ (mother) who was using her cell phone torchlight, (as it was getting dark) to shout, calling Sunday, Sunday (suspect) what is it again.”

The source said it was at that moment that the suspect poured the deadly liquid on the victims and disappeared. Daily Sun gathered that as the mother and son cried out in pains, sympathizers rushed to the scene and applied first aid, using water and oil to douse the devastating effect before they were rushed to NAUTH.

When Daily Sun visited the victims at the Accident and Emergency Unit, NAUTH it was observed that the woman had a higher degree of burn than the son as her face and chest were targeted, while her son was affected in the back and part of his head.

Speaking to Daily Sun, the woman’s husband, Mr Bright Ozoemena, a building contractor and a native of Mmiata Anam in Anambra West Local Government Area, said when he got the news of what happened to his family, he rushed to the hospital and was briefed by his wife and later ran to Nnewi Central Police Station which led to the arrest of the suspect, a native of Abakiliki in Ebonyi State, according to Mr Ozoemena.

The matter has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Awka for further investigation. Contacted, the Anambra State Police Command image maker, Mr Emeka Chukwuemeka said he was yet to get details of the incident.

Incidentally, Elvis also has a special friend called Margo in his own building. Now, there are a number of people following the antics of Elvis and his female partner Margo.

An animal lover jested, "The only thing Bebo's dog is not doing is signing autographs. He's such a popular guy, he has people tracking his movements."

Whether it is giving interviews, which I really enjoy, or wearing heels or the long hours, I absolutely love it all. Also, I’m not one of those people who do things they don’t like doing.

Doctor Stabs Her 7-Year-Old Daughter 31 Times Before Killing Herself

A doctor has killed herself after stabbing her seven-year-old daughter 31 times - leaving the girl's father to find the grisly scene.

Victoria Vovchik, 45, was found dead in her master bedroom in New City, New York on Thursday afternoon, with her daughter, Ava Sangavaram, lying nearby.

Officials said the young girl had been stabbed 31 times, including across the throat, and was rushed to Westchester Medical Center, where she is listed in critical condition. She has undergone surgery and is expected to survive.

The bloody scene was discovered by Ava's father, Dr. Kristappa Sangavaram, when he visited the home. He called 911 and police arrived at the upscale home just after 1p.m.

Dr Sangavaram, 68, did not live with Vovchik and their daughter, but co-owned the home.

He had been married to a different woman for several decades until her death last year, his son Preeth Sangavaram, told The Journal News.

The elder Sangavaram and Vovchik had never married but remained friends and shared care of Ava.

'It’s a touchy situation because he had a child with her (Vovchik) but wasn't married to her,' Preeth Sangavaram, 29, told The Journal News. 'The child was very important to him, so he always tried to maintain a healthy relationship.'

Sangavaram called police on Thursday to report a possible suicide, police said.

'I believe he came home and discovered them,' Clarkstown Sgt. Jo Anne Fratianni said during a news conference. 'She (Ava) was conscious, I believe.'

Sangavaram was brought in for questioning by Clarkstown police, but was later released. They do not believe he played any role in the tragedy, the Journal News reported.

Police said Vovchik left behind no note explaining why she attacked her daughter or took her own life. She used a knife or other sharp object to kill herself, officers said.

Sangavaram spoke briefly of his daughter when reached by The Journal News on Thursday night.


'She's doing fine,' he said. 'She's OK. I cannot say more.'

Ray Florida, executive director of Rockland Paramedic Services, said Ava was able to speak when she was being treated by medics at the scene.

She has now undergone surgery and has been taken to the Intensive Care Unit. Police said it was unlikely she would be able to speak with them about the incident for several days.

Vovchik was a podiatrist with practices in Fort Lee and Montvale, New Jersey.

Sangavaram, who lives in Englewood Cliffs, is an anesthesiologist educated in India.

But he briefly lost his medical license after pleading no contest to charges of charging excessive fees and improperly treating a patient in 2004, records show. He was also ordered to pay $210,000.

With Vovchik, he bought the home in August 2010 for $810,000. They put down $300,000 and took out a mortgage.

Fratianni added that police had never been called to the home for any type of domestic issue.

Switzerland - St Gallen: Satanic 'Nurse' Poses With Dead Female Patient And Posts Pictures On Facebook Asking Friends To "Guess If She Is Asleep Or Dead"! "Hail Satan"; "I'm The Soul Thief", Are A Few Of The Comments She Also Posted!

A 'nurse' is being investigated after posting pictures on Facebook of herself standing over an apparently dead patient and asking people to guess if she is alive.

The woman, who was dressed in a nurse's uniform, called herself the 'soul thief' and also posted comments including 'Hail Satan'.

Authorities in St Gallen, Switzerland, about 85km from Zurich, have now launched an investigation and the public prosecutor said they will then decide whether to press charges.

In one comment the woman wrote: 'Guess is she asleep or is she dead? Hint: I'm the soul thief', according to Swiss news site 20 Minuten.

In another she reportedly wrote: 'Yeah, your time is over. Send them to hell, where some of them belong. The rest goes into a hole for compost fertiliser, hehehe.'

Nigeria To Overtake South Africa As Africa's Biggest Economy Over The Next Several Years

The ever-expanding moonscape that stretches out behind a wall holding back the Atlantic Ocean here will one day host a project designed to help anchor Nigeria as Africa's biggest economy.

But if the ambitious plan to construct a new city on land reclaimed from the sea, called Eko Atlantic, represents Nigeria's future, it is one that will be outsourced. Nearly every aspect of it will be privately run, from electricity supply to security.

Economists expect Nigeria, already the continent's most populous nation and largest oil producer, to overtake South Africa in terms of gross domestic product (GDP) over the next several years, technically making it Africa's biggest economy.

But the impressive-sounding title tells an incomplete story, and the Eko Atlantic new city project illustrates the contradictions in a country crippled by corruption and unable to provide basic services, but with vast potential that could indeed one day be realised.

"The more important thing is, fundamentally, you have a population of 165-million" while South Africa's is around 52-million", said Bismarck Rewane, a respected economist and head of Lagos-based Financial Derivatives.

"So even if you are the same GDP, your GDP has to be four times more – 400% more than that of South Africa for you to have [roughly] the same income per capita."

Karoi Man Who Raped 15-Year-Old Girl While Awaiting Trial For Raping Another Married Woman Has Been Jailed For 16 Years

A serial Karoi rapist, who raped a 15-year-old schoolgirl while awaiting trial for raping another married woman, has been jailed for 16 years.

Obert Guguta (39) of Tollington Farm in Karoi could have been serving 27 years in jail after being convicted of breaking into a neighbour’s house and raping his wife while their children watched.

Guguta, who is married to two wives, was arrested sometime in 2008 for breaking into the house and raping the woman.

He was, however, released on bail. Sometime in May 2011, Guguta followed a then 15-year-old girl to the pastures where she had gone to herd cattle and raped her. Guguta appeared before Chinhoyi regional magistrate Mr Never Katiyo who found him guilty of rape. He slapped Guguta with an 18- year-jail term before setting aside two years.

However, prosecutor Ms Farai Zacharia highlighted to the court that Guguta was slapped with another 11-year jail term before ruling that the 11 years would run concurrently with the effective 16-year term.

Prosecutor Ms Zacharia told the court that sometime in 2011 Guguta followed the girl to the grazing land where she was herding cattle. He ambushed her and chased her as she tried to run away before raping her.
