Desmond Elliott's Movie, IN THE CUPBOARD, Set For Screening This August, 2012.

Actor-turned Director/producer, Desmond Elliott, is releasing his long-awaited movie, 'In The Cupboard', in cinemas, nationwide as from  the 17th of  August 2012.  The movie which was successfully premiered in several cities is the U.S last year is finally set for release in Nigeria.

 'In The Cupboard' is a story that revolves around the lives of six siblings born into the rich, aristocratic Desouza family; a name synonymous with wealth & power. Everything seems perfect in their lives until their father dies unexpectedly and all of them gather together from different parts of the world to be with their mother, the elegant matriarch Veronica 'Ronnie’ Desouza ( Biola Williams) by for two weeks. What ensues is a series of events that threatens to shake the family to its very foundations!

The movie's star-studded cast includes Nollywood star actress Ini Edo alongside Big Brother Africa Winner,Uti Nwachukwu, Award winning Ghanaian actress, Lydia Forson, Mr Nigeria 1st Runner-Up, Alexx Ekubo, ZAFAA Award winner, Bishop Ime Umoh and features upcoming actors Morris Sesay and Tessy Abubakar.

Marketed under the Royal Arts Academy brand, the movie was executive produced by Desmond Elliot & Caroline Danjuma and produced & directed by Desmond Elliott.

Desmond Elliott, Genevieve Nnaji, Stephanie Okereke, Isaiah Washington, Jimmy Jean-Louis & Vivica A. Fox star in Tony Abulu's “Doctor Bello” which is the first movie project financed with support from the Nigerian Intervention Fund for the Arts and NEXIM Bank.

Synopsis:

“The Cure for Cancer has been found in the sky mountains of Africa and an American Oncologist will risk everything to get it."

Brilliant cancer specialist Dr. Michael Durant is emotionally troubled, wrestling with the traumatic loss of his 10 year old daughter from cancer. Immersing himself in his work from the hospital, away from his wife who blames him for their child’s death, he forms an unlikely bond with a sick, loving, but rambunctious seven year old boy Sam, the son of a rich Jewish couple who are major contributors to the hospital’s cancer research fund.

Unfortunately, Sam’s health deteriorates drastically, and soon, he slips into a coma, with only a few days to live. Dr. Durant becomes desperate, willing to risk anything to save the child’s life. A surreptitious Nigerian Nurse convinces him to seek the help of Dr. Bello, an uncertified Nigerian Doctor, known in Brooklyn-African underground as a miracle worker.

Dr. Bello, an introvert with a controversial past, secretly visits the child at night and administers a strange African potion, replete with incantations and by the next morning, miraculously, the child begins to recover, the cancer speeding into remission.

The hospital medical board immediately orders an investigation and soon the secret is revealed and Dr. Durant is suspended. Dr. Bello is arrested and charged with medical malpractices. Dr. Durant soon falls into depression after his wife leaves him. Meanwhile, Dr. Bello has fallen critically ill in jail and can only be saved by the ingestion of that same potion that can only be found in the mysterious “garden of life” nestled on the peak of Nigeria”s sky mountains.

The star-studded launch of Catwalq which took place on the 1st of February, 2012 at Sheraton Hotel in Ikeja, received rave reviews.

Catwalq is a 26 episode Soap Opera about three ladies- Kima, Paris and Wange, who are also friends and business partners that run a glamorous fashion magazine together. The soap, which is also full of humour, drama, intrigue and betrayal, explores the love lives of these ladies, relationships and work in the dazzling and exciting world of high fashion.

The cast include: Monalisa Chinda, Memry Savanhu, Joy Scrase, Susan Peters, Uru Eke, Keneth Okolie, Imeh Bishop Umoh, Gbenga Titiloye, amongst others.
