I know Chief Femi Fani-Kayode to be a very vocal person and read a lot of his writings on Facebook, many of which I'd usually call inspirational. However, you can imagine my SHOCK when his rant below about Oscar Pistorius' killing of his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, popped up on my FB page yesterday. If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, I'd never have believed that Chief FFK could be so cold and unfeeling. Gosh! An observer on his page expressed his disapproval and as I couldn't comment, I just liked the observer's comment. I couldn't post it immediately due to internet issues, so I just saved it in my email draft. I'm glad I did, as it looks like Chief FFK has now deleted the post. I used to like and respect Chief FFK and have been sympathetic about his recent EFCC woes. Hmmm...a peacock will eventually show its true colours! Which brings me to another topic: Does Chief Femi Fani-Kayode promote justify Domestic Violence? Read his heartless rant below and make your minds up.

A VALENTINE DAY’S TRAGEDY FOR THE BLADE RUNNER (Written By Chief Femi Fani-Kayode)
"Oscar Pistorius, who is also known as ”the Blade Runner”, has shot his girlfriend to death on Valentine’s eve. This is such a tragedy. A man that is loved and respected by so many from all over the world has killed his beautiful young lover, who happens to be one of South Africa’s top models, in cold blood.
The initial “accidental-shooting burglar theory” has been dismissed by the South Afrocan (gbagaun sic) police. According to the BBC there are speculations that there have been previous acts of domestic violence and altercations between the couple, that there was a terrible arguement (gbagaun sic) going on just before the shooting and that this is a straightforward case of cold-blooded murder probably as a consequence of high passion.
Whatever the the truth may be, all I can say is that this is a great tragedy and we need to be careful about the kind of women that we spend our time with. Any woman that stirs up your anger and constantly provokes your wrath ought to be avoided like a plague. It is those that bring peace and tranquility into our lives that we should cherish.
I have little doubt that Pistorius, who was a great achiever, a living icon, the greatest and best known African sportsman in world history and an absolute gentleman, was provoked into a murderous rage by his pretty little lover and that she played on his insecurities and inadequacies. These are the classic traits of the biblical “strange woman”- the destroyer of men’s dreams and destinies.
Only God knows who sent this creature from the sea into this great man’s life just to destroy it. For Pistorius it is all over. In one moment of blind rage he has lost everything and he has brought shame, disgrace, sorrow and infamy upon his name and that of his family. The blood he has shed will speak against him and his lineage forever. And all because of a sexy and pretty little model who the devil sent his way.
May the Lord deliver us all from the daughters of Jezebel, Dalilah (gbagaun sic), Athalia (gbagaun sic) and Yemoja".
Reeva Steenkamp was an active Twitter user and tweeted to her followers late on Wednesday night of how excited she was about Valentine’s Day. “What do you have up your sleeve for your love tomorrow???” she asked. Steenkamp was also a promoter of domestic violence awareness and re-tweeted a message on Wednesday advising people to “wear black this Friday in support against #rape and woman abuse #blackfriday.”
Most notably, the model sent out the following tweet on Feb. 10:

Police say that there had been previous incidents at Pistorius’ home, which they describe as “allegations of a domestic nature,” says the BBC. The Olympian was expected to appear in the Pretoria Magistrate’s court on Thursday afternoon but this has been delayed until Friday.
SAY NO TO DOMESTIC VIOLENCE!!! RIP Reeva Steenkamp. May God grant your gentle soul justice - AMEN.

Linda Ikeji just called me to confirm the authenticity of this story, as she wants to blog it and it is no longer on FFK's page. As I explained in my first paragraph and will authoritatively repeat, I copied it direct from Chief Femi Fani-Kayode's page on FB before he deleted it and YES, you read this story here FIRST! I stand by my words anytime, so you can quote me to promote a good cause. I am also certain that numerous witnesses on his page will gladly corroborate my story, as he engaged in a war of words (as usual) with those that disagreed with him. He called one fan an "idiot" and the rest "dumb" for disagreeing with his EVIL remarks. As you know, I strongly campaign against Domestic Violence, so I won't take this lying down!

Please read my email to Myne Whitman below after I stumbled across this story on her site properly referencing me as the source. I could have brought more attention to my own side of the story by writing this as a Facebook status update for other bloggers to see, but decided not to; it is however written here for the benefit of people who happen to stumble across it too...especially those who have misconstrued the real reasons myself and my ex friend, Linda Ikeji, fell out.

How are you doing? Longest time. A lot of people do not know the origin of my beef with Linda. There are certain things that when a supposed 'friend' does, you'd know that the person is no longer your friend.
The first incident occurred when Linda published something about myself and someone else and even though she didn't exactly say it, her posting that falsehood to gain more traffic added more fuel to it. I was in Nigeria at the time and my younger sister called me and said, "isn't Linda your friend? Have you seen what she posted about you"? I received several similar shocked calls and some even enquired if we had quarrelled. I called Linda and her explanation was, "I just like to be mischievous sometimes". Yeah...at the expense of other people.
The second incident occurred when I sent herself and a few other bloggers a press release from Jackie Appiah and a friend. She emailed back, "who are they again"? I replied, "Linda, is it me you are writing this to"? And she replied, "only joking"! On top of it all, she didn't publish it. We had already started growing apart since I detected the first signs of attitude emanating from her and I just about managed to stop myself from giving her a mouthful.
The third incident happened after I saw an update Chief FFK wrote about Oscar Pistorius' late girlfriend whom he murdered. People close to me will tell you that I am a workaholic who hardly sleeps, so it's not unusual to catch me awake at 3am writing. This was when Chief FFK posted the update. My eyes almost popped out of my head in shock and anger as I opened my mouth. I went to comment and he was already fighting people who expressed their disgust. I saved it and made a mental note to blog it. I forgot until I saw it a few days later in my draft. I promptly blogged it and it went viral. Linda called me almost a week later and said that people have been asking her why she hasn't blogged the post and that she went to Chief FFK's page and couldn't find it. He had obviously taken it down. I confirmed the story and told her to reference me when she posts it. She then copied and posted it and made no reference to me. I called her immediately. She didn't pick my call until I called another private line of hers with another phone. Her exact words to me were, "come on Egor, I can't reference you for that. I published what FFK said and not what you said"!
Wow. I will not say how I felt but this was when my dislike for Linda truly started brewing. I went back to the post to add the P.S. you see there so that people who happen to stumble across it in future would know that it was here she got the story from. Linda is the reason I blocked people from copying my posts; it was after that incident, I activated the block except for photos. I figured that if anyone liked my stories so much, they can take the photos and write their own literature themselves. I know it wouldn't deter die hard crooks, but so help them God if I catch them. Nigerian bloggers are so uncouth and have no regard for copyright laws...Linda is the biggest culprit. Unlike her, it's not my blog that feeds me, I just love writing.
Subsequent incidents happened like her ignoring my emails and not promoting Turning Point when other bloggers who were not as close to me were doing it out of goodwill. She only posted some photos from the Lagos premiere to bring herself traffic from the gossip she created out of them. The last straw was when she directly dedicated a spiteful post to me. That was what led to the final showdown that people witnessed and interpreted how they deemed fit.
Why am I telling you this? I stumbled across the same post this evening on your site and my respect grew for you to see how you appropriately referenced me and included my direct link. I realised too that you must have noticed how Linda stole it from me and didn't reference me. If you who wasn't that close to me could reference me and my 'friend' bluntly refused to do the same, despite knowing it was the right thing to do...fill in the gaps.
I am not perfect and I definitely am feisty, but what takes me far in life is my good heart and my humility. No matter how great God makes me, my greatest prayer is that I never lose these particular traits. Pride goes before a fall...I have seen a lot of horrifying examples. I have secretly done things for people I don't even know just by them sending me messages on Facebook and many would write me back praying for me...yet I am not a millionaire, I am only reasonably comfortable. Why should a classy person even boast? If you know Linda's true humble beginnings and how I really liked her and was there for her as a friend, you will understand. Some things are better left unsaid. God is the best judge and certain truths will begin to slowly unfold. That is how life is.
I remember when you and I first got acquainted and how you sent me your novels; that was about 5 years ago. 5 years later, you still exude the class that I have always associated you with. I know how far you've come and know that you're even a bigger millionaire than a lot of people who blow their trumpets, but have remained decent.
