Congratulations to Beyonce and Anthony Mackie.
The Academy of Motion PictureArts and Sciences which gives out the Oscar Awards just extended an invitation to them to become members.The invitation went out to 178 artists and executives “who have distinguished themselves by their contributions to theatrical motion pictures.”
Academy president Tom Sherack
said, “These individuals are among the best filmmakers working in the industry today. Their talent and creativity have entertained moviegoers around the world, and I welcome each of them to our ranks.”
Anthony was cited for hiswork in “The Hurt Locker” and “Million Dollar Baby ” while Beyonce was acknowledged for her work in “Dreamgirls” and “Austin Powers in Goldmember”
Membership is earned by receiving an Oscar nomination or when an existing member nominates someone who has made a significant contribution to movies.
