A man has resurfaced from nowhere, claiming to be the
biological father of Dillish Matthews, the winner of the just concluded Big
Brother Africa.
Abdi Galgalo Guyo, a retired Army Officer disclosed that he
met Selma, Dillish’s mother, in 1989 in Namibia while he was on a peacekeeping
mission.
“We had been deployed for a peace keeping mission in Namibia
when I met a girl and fell in love with her,” Galgalo said. He claimed he was 20
and Selma was about 18 when they both met.
He disclosed that
after having spent one year in Namibia, he returned home and could only
communicate with Dillish’s mum via letters “We sent each other letters through
my colleagues,” he explained.
Disclosing further Galgalo, a Borana from Moyale, said Selma
was about 8 months pregnant when he left Namibia. He said that communication
between the two of them stopped after the peace mission had ended. Earlier,
Dillish had denied the allegations, but the matter became serious the
ex-soldier contacted her mother via skype in The Standard Group offices and
Galgalo was invited for Dillish’s birthday on September 16.
While communicating
with Galgalo from the office of the Kenyan Ambassador to Namibia, Selma had
told him to bring the photographs of his five other children during the
birthday celebration for a confirmation of his claims. He expressed joy for the
invitation.
Galgalo has confirmed
his attendance and promised to give his daughter a Kenyan name at the course of
the celebration.
