The footballer, who turned 37, posted a picture to his Facebook page showing himself surrounded by perfectly wrapped presents and cards addressed to 'Daddy'.
Fans were particularly curious about the large square present that sat behind the LA Galaxy star, which turned out to be a signed Magic Johnson basketball jersey.
The former LA Lakers superstar had even signed the jersey 'To David'.
David was visibly thrilled with the surprise as he posted yet another picture on Facebook, clutching the framed jersey and writing: 'Best birthday present ever!'
