Moe Makaya - Introduction (Video Directed By Charlz Bonja).

Moe makaya has been described by others as being the next little Kim due to her lyrical content, style and energy when she performs. Moe Makaya whose style of rap is mixed with new school and old school with a dancehall and afro flare gives her a unique sound. Having been a model before she has incorporated this into her style as a rapper giving her a fashion modelesque edge making her fierce yet sassy. Moe Makaya loves different and likes to be versatile when it comes to genre as she believes music is art and can be expressed in different ways taking up many forms. 

Moe Makaya is a Zimbabwean rapper, Model and actress. She was born in the capital city of Zimbabwe Harare where she lived. She grew up around music as her uncle; Thabo Makaya was an artist and producer who had a built studio at their family home in Mount Pleasant called Makastrator Studios. This is where well known artists in Zimbabwe went to i.e Roki, Sanie Makhalima, Roy and Royce etc Moe Makaya was always surrounded by music which she caught onto at a tender age of 12 and started rapping under the name lil PHO. She did feature tracks with artists and did many jingles for radio stations and also day performances.

Moe Makaya at the age of 13 moved to the UK for studies and stopped doing music. Being at school Moe Makaya was always active doing sports, dance and was also good at art and majority of her subjects. Moe appeared in local newspapers for outstanding GCSE grades and went on to do her A-levels in Mathematics law and IT. M.O.E did well and progressed onto university at age of 18 and studied Accounting and Business where the following year (2011) she started modeling. Moe makaya is currently ignrr to a modelling agency and through them has got work traveling go Turkey, France and Belgium. She has won Revolution salon (based in Birmingham) an award for black hair magazine January 2014 issue. She has also featured in no:3 New York magazine and appeared on many sites from stock images. In the summer of 2013 after graduating Moe Makaya did her first bit of acting with Flake city doing short films and also appeared on their online series called We Are Young playing the character Loretta. Whilst doing that Moe started working on music video shoots with Director and producer Charlz Archibong. Her main duties where hair, makeup and any styling that was needed. She learnt a lot from charlz assisting on different shoots for different artists and in the process Moe Makaya’s love for music and being a rapper came back to her. 

In September 2013 she featured on Faith love’s song Suka Ndiro under the name M.O.E which became a hit track and was played on radio stations in Zimbabwe. The following year (2014), Mpho decided to take her music career more serious and by incorporating her modelling and acting  skills, created MOE MAKAYA; a model rapper.

In March 2014 Moe did another feature song called Body Vibrate with rap artist Ether and dancehall artist Scubba Bling. The following month she then did her first single called INTRODUCTION which features a rising afrobeats Nigerian Artist called KIN best known for his hit song  "Ada Owerri". Both Video and Audio have just been released. Currently Moe Makaya has two other unreleased songs: Make it hurricane and Tamba. The beats for these two songs have been produced by a well known zimbabwean producer Jusa Dementor. Moe makaya is also working on collaborations with artists such as AJ Ripsy, Jusa Dementor, John Smarts, Roby Gee. In the summer Moe Makaya will be performing at the Face of the a Globe which is a well known and recognized event in Leicester.
