Nicole Richie may have started her Hollywood career as a sidekick to Paris Hilton, but now she is getting her own show on VH1 and it may make her even more popular than Kim Kardashian. The new reality show will be called #CandidlyNicole and it will run for eight episodes for 30 minutes starting June 17th, 2014. The show will be based on Richie’s twitter feed. She currently has 4.35 million followers and has tweeted 3,633 times. She was voted by Time magazine as having one of the best Twitter feeds.
Nicole Richie has morphed from a reality star on The Simple life to an entrepreneur, actress, and fashion designer. She serves as the creative director for the House of Harlow 1960, which she started. The high end line offers clothes, eyewear, handbags and shoes. Richie also has a production company called Honey Child Productions, which brokered the deal for the new show. Richie has also appeared on NBC’s Fashion Star as a mentor to up and coming fashion designers. Her book ‘The Truth About Diamonds” is a New York Times best seller. If that weren’t enough, Richie and her husband Joel Madden are involved with multiple charities and also run their own charity called The Richie Madden Children Foundation.
Nichole Richie has always been a popular girl with a witty sense of humor and street smart, and it her personality that sets her apart from bland Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian. She does not appear interested to fit into the Hollywood rich girl fold and she never runs away from a taboo subject or uncomfortable conversation. Richie likes to set herself apart as the edgy girl who has no filter and speaks her mind. Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian appear to try too hard to say the right thing and look the right way. Fans have already deserted Hilton and they seem to be getting bored of Kardashian as well. Richie’s personality and style seems more natural and effortless. Maybe that is why she has been not only been able to sustain fans much longer than Hilton and Kardashian have, but her fan base is also growing.
While people may know that Richie was adopted at age nine by Lionel and Brenda Richie, people may not realize that Richie was born in California to a musician who was a close friend of Lionel. Her biological parents allowed her move in with Lionel and Brenda because they felt that they could provide a better life for her than they could. Lionel and Brenda eventually split and Lionel remarried, giving Richie two younger siblings. Richie has commented that the split was hard on her and she doesn’t think any child should be given as much freedom as she was.
On her new VH1 show, Nichole Richie will undoubtedly be a breath of fresh air from her former friend Paris Hilton, and controversial, yet still popular, Kim Kardashian. #CandidlyNichole will share Richie’s thoughts on life, social media, fashion choices, and give the audience a first hand look at her Hollywood adventures.
