Ever since it was revealed that Simon Cowell will be a father, the man once known as 'Mr Nasty' has gradually shown he has a much softer and romantic side.
The music mogul is apparently planning a “special holiday proposal” and will ask his girlfriend Lauren Silverman to be his wife during his annual festive break. Simon has even splashed out on a ring, which is sure to be the bling of all bling.
A source has told People: “Simon has an engagement ring, but is being secretive about the proposal.
“Simon is flying to the Caribbean for the Christmas holiday. Lauren will join him for parts of the holiday trip. Simon could be planning a special holiday proposal. It seems he will definitely propose.”
Simon is said to be over the moon about becoming a father for the first time next year, and is looking forward to Lauren’s baby shower.
The source added: “He is beyond excited about his son. He loves feeling the baby kicking and acts very proud that he will be a father.”
The 54-year-old is also very supportive of Lauren’s divorce settlement with Andrew Silverman.
The source said: “Simon just wanted Lauren to get a quick divorce so they could start their new life together. Simon has mentioned that Andrew has a couple of divorce conditions that are not ideal, but he has not talked about the details.”
Lauren is planning to give birth in New York to be close to her mother, Carole Sandland, and it was reported this week that the baby is due to be born on February 28.
