Rajasthan - Sawai Madhopur: Family Of 5 Commit Suicide Believing They Will Meet Their Lord Shiva In Heaven; Family Head's Brother Also Joined Them, Making It 6 Deaths. (Photo + Video)

A family of five in Sawai Madhopur district of Rajasthan consumed poison (cynamide laced laddoos) and died with the belief that they would meet their god.
The family head and photographer Kanchan Singh, made a video of the entire incident and was even seen telling his family how he tried to meet Lord Shiva in heaven but failed.
The family members who died include Singh’s wife, three children and his engineer brother.
In fact the entire family was extremely religious and used to observe all festivals and religious ceremonies. They even watched only religious serials and shows on TV and the children were extremely influenced by a serial on Lord Shiva. The entire matter came to light after the police examined the video.
Before committing suicide, Singh made a video where every member of the family was asked why they wanted to die and also about their feelings. Watch the video below.

Governor Godswill Akpabio Is Not A Reckless Spender And Here Are 6 Reasons Why - Chief Press Secretary

Regarding some misconstrued news that have recently been circulating on-line accusing Governor Akpabio of reckless spending, his press secretary, Pastor Anietie Ukpe, has released a statement debunking the rumours and giving six very clear reasons why Governor Akpabio is not a reckless spender. Read the statement below:

1. All the money so far spent was budgeted and did not in any way negatively impact on the fortunes of Akwa Ibom and the people of the state.

2. The governor promised and actually donated only one Toyota Prado SUV to Tuface Idibia and his wife, Annie Macaulay, not two such vehicles, as was wrongly reported. When the most respected Highlife living legend, Dr. Victor Abimbola Olaiya, was honoured with the latest model of Toyota Avensis saloon car by Governor Fayemi of Ekiti State to mark his 80th birthday, did anybody complain?

3. The Governor promised to give twenty relatives of the bride, Annie Macaulay, who is an Akwa Ibom daughter, return tickets to Dubai to attend the wedding. The entire cost of these return tickets came down to just N3 million. Was that enough for such pent up fury?
4. On the donation of N6 million to the state chapter chairmen of the Peoples Democratic Party at Port Harcourt, in the 2013 budget, there is a provision for Hospitality, Grants and Donations by the Governor under Section 467/169. This provision is not peculiar to Akwa Ibom State; it is an intrinsic part of all government budgets in the world. How leaders decide on donations is not subject to legislative scrutiny or control, just as the legislature does not control how the provision for the security vote is spent.

5. Concerning the donation of N230 million (N10 million per state) by twenty-three PDP states for developmental projects in Mr President’s immediate community, the projects involved included cancer diagnostic centre, nursery school, primary school, secondary school, skill acquisition centre, hostel for NYSC youths posted to Bayelsa, and a deanery for prayers. All those who are upset about this donation have the option to channel their own donations towards the building of shrines, or even to Satan.

6. There are also issues with the Governor saying that he “once gave a cash gift of N10m to the national Under-17 football team, the Golden Eaglets, for beating Mali in a first leg African Under-17 Championship qualifier in Calabar last November.” Not true! Governor Akpabio met the kids a few weeks earlier at Abuja Airport and on interaction learnt of their financial handicap in prosecuting major competitions outside Nigeria. He pledged N10 million support to the team and redeemed same at Calabar after the team’s match with Mali.
~ Chief Press Secretary/Senior Special Assistant to Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Anietie Ukpe.
This is not the first time that Governor Akpabio is releasing a statement like this to clear his good name. If you missed the first one, click here to read it. So here's hoping the rumours will finally be laid to rest.

Lindsay Lohan Pictured Wasted Under A Table At Brazil Nightclub

Lindsay Lohan Table Picture

Lindsay Lohan has gone from being a colossial pain in the ass to sitting on her ass in order to avoid photos that depict her as a drunken mess.
Only she failed in that endeavor.
The actress - who was accused this week of stealing wardrobe items from the Anger Management set - was caught inside a Brazil nightclub yesterday, looking stone cold sober and totally put together.
"In party in Sao Paulo, Lindsay Lohan refuses to take pictures and hides under the DJ table," wrote the Twitter user who snapped the picture above.
With a court-ordered 90-day rehab stint on the way, Lohan is trying to get in as much partying as possible over the coming weeks.
Can you blame her?
Oh, right. Totally. What a trainwreck.

Uti Nwachukwu - I Am An Extremely Jealous Guy And Expect 100% Attention And Care From My Lover

“I am an extremely jealous guy but I am praying to God to make me less jealous and less possessive. I believe that if you find somebody that’s for you, that person should be for you only. I’m a bit extreme because my lover must focus on only me. Now that’s a bit difficult and that’s why I say I am a very difficult person to be with. Perhaps, I’m very demanding when it comes to relationships."

"Apart from being a jealous lover I also expect you to give back to me what I am giving you. I expect 100 per cent attention and care and nothing less. So, it’s going to be hard but I know God gave me this standard in order to connect me with the exact person he has created for me.”

Dayo Israel's Phone Was Stolen By This Man Yesterday. Can Anyone Please Identify This Thief? (Photos)

Motivational speaker, Dayo Isreal, had his phone stolen at an event he was speaking at yesterday. Himself and the thief (guy in the two photographs above) were charging their phones side by side and by the time he finished speaking, the guy had absconded with both his phone and charger (photo 2 shows him leaving with Dayo's phone and charger).

Unfortunately for the thief, he was captured on the event video nicking the phone and leaving with it. I HATE thieves! Let's nab the HIDIOT and use him as a scapegoat to deter other thieves! If you Ħª√Ä™ any useful information about him, please shout out to Dayo on Twitter : @dayoisrael

Many thanks in advance. Read Dayo's BB broadcasts below about the incident.

2Face And Annie Idibia Dubai Wedding Special: Exclusive Juicy Gists About Gate Crashers, Absent A-Listers, Rude Naomi Adenuga, Facts & Video Clips Of The Wedding & Stars Performing For The Lovely Couple At Industry Night.

Celebrity friends and well-wishers came all the way from Nigeria to Dubai to celebrate with 2Face and Annie Idibia. They most definitely added colour and fanfare to the whole event.

However, some faces were conspicuously missing. Blackface from 2Face's former group, Plantashun Boiz, says he wasn’t invited. One might have expected old friends like Keke Ogungbe, Dayo Adeneye, Cally Ikpe, OJB Jezreel, Tony Tetuila, Nelson Brown and Joyce Ize-Iyamu to be around to celebrate with the groom, but they didn’t turn up.
A-list artistes like D’banj, P-Square, M.I, Wizkid, Ice Prince, Omawumi, Tiwa Savage, Naeto C, Dare Art-Alade, Waje and Iyanya were also absent.
It was billed as the wedding of the year, and so it was no surprise that everybody wanted to be present there. It didn’t matter to some people whether they were invited or not. It was 2Face‘s wedding and they just had to attend.
So, it ended up being a struggle.

Gate Crashers
Quite a number of people gave out their invites to friends who were overjoyed to attend even if they didn’t know Annie and 2face personally. They made it worse by coming with other friends who were equally not invited.

Invite Screening
Even if 2face decided to get married on the moon, it’s certain non-invited guests will do anything to be in attendance, and this was clearly evident in Dubai. Screening before entry was tight but trust Nigerians to always find a way around the toughest situations.

2Face & Annie’s Love Boat

After having a huge turnout of guests, things got even more interesting as it became the survival of the fittest to get on the ferry that conveyed everyone to the venue of the reception which was ‘The Royal Beach Island’.
It wasn’t easy even for 2face and Annie to get onto their own love boat. 2face who hardly ever gets angry complained bitterly about it to those already on board.
Ol’boy, Na wao, to enter my own boat na wahala, our own boat o”.

Security Guards force their way on board
The workers on the boat kept shouting “Move back, you will die”; scared that people might fall inside the water as they tried to force their way in. Twice Senator Florence Ita Giwa tried to get in but she was pushed back. The organizers begged her for patience as they tried to get her on board but it didn’t work.  There was nothing like VIP entry into the boat.
She later went home. After all, she lives like a queen in her beautiful house in Dubai. Wunmi Obe also could not attend the Beach Island reception as she could not get into the boat.

Clueless Organizers

They may have successfully organized big weddings, but 2face and Annie Idibia’s wedding organizers should have known that this particular wedding would be a different kettle of fish altogether. A handful of fans came from different parts of the world believing they would get in and they did.
One member of the organizing team, Naomi Adenuga was very rude to guests.I don’t care if you are a dignitary or celebrity, get off the boat”she shouted; insisting on the black card which was distributed at the venue to their own friends and people as the new authentic invite to the boat; ignoring many invited guests that flew in with their own money.

Banky W's POWERFUL Speech At The 5th Annual Bola Tinubu Colloquium In Lagos - Says Dubai Inspired Him As They Used Their Oil To Transform Their Society...So What Have Nigerian Leaders Done With Ours? Hmmm...Food For Thought!

I recently celebrated my birthday… I was fortunate enough to go to Dubai to attend my friend Tuface Idibia’s wedding… and I want to start off my speech by showing you a couple of pictures of Dubai, because what I saw there inspired me.

Ladies and gentlemen, it is the same oil that was discovered there in the 1960’s that they used to transform that society. The very same oil that was discovered here. But what have our leaders done with it?

Benjamin Franklin once said “when you’re finished changing, you’re finished”. I’d like to take that a step further by saying “we must be a part of the change we seek, or risk being changed ourselves”.

The question is no longer “will Nigeria change”… but rather, it’s “will it change for the better or worse” and “who will lead that change”.

History is rife with instances of regimes, institutions and societies seeming stable and unshakable… but young people being fed up with the status quo, became the catalysts of Change in their societies. In recent times we’ve seen young people all over the world clothe themselves with the “change” mantle and become a part of the movement. We’ve seen that no matter the society, and no matter the circumstances of oppression and corruption, change is possible if the people decide that enough is enough. From Tunisia, to America, to Egypt… young people are changing the world every day. Nigeria should be no different.

They say “insanity” is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. We cannot continue the same behaviours, year in, year out and expect better results. Except for prayer, you can’t do the same thing over and over again and expect things to be better. And even with prayer, you actually have to get up and do something after all they say heaven helps those who help themselves.

Things young people can do:

1)   Be involved in the political process:
 1.Register to vote
2.Actually Vote for the right candidates.
3.Or Sit back and let someone else steal your voice.

2)   Peacefully protest
 1.Media: Old & New

i.      Twitter, Facebook etc – I believe that even though the internet accessibility in Nigeria is still low, we cannot ignore the importance of such platforms. They serve as tools that can help in the movement. And things are changing everyday… many phones today have some internet capability or the other.
1.Efforts like Occupy Nigeria, Light Up Nigeria, Enough is Enough, etc.
 2.Newspapers, blogs, etc.

3)   Become fully involved in the Political process.
1.It’s easier to talk about and/or criticize people that are working than to do the work yourself. Join a party and try to help influence policy. We can level the playing field if we all get involved in this Movement for Change. And it’s not just at the federal level. Young people need to start getting involved even from the local and state  levels in order to properly influence policy and society.

4)   Use whatever voice or platform you have… constructively. I’m a musician and so you’ve seen me singing and speaking publicly about the need for the change in our country… but you can use whatever sphere of influence you have… be it with family, friends, school, neighborhood, church or mosque. Everyone has a voice and a role to play.

I’m here because I’m a dreamer. Everything I have now, that God blessed me with… was born out of my dreams. I dreamt of becoming a singer; dreamt of owning my own Record Label company, and other businesses. Dreamt of being able to influence my surroundings, my city, my state and my country through my work. But Some people stop at dreaming while others actually wake up and set about trying to make those dreams come true.

I dream of a changed Nigeria where each child, no matter the background has a dream of his/her own, and is given access to education, healthcare, and basic amenities in life to make those dreams come true.

I dream of a changed Nigeria where the opportunities abound for anyone willing to work for them; where every man, woman and child is given a fair shot to avoid poverty and become a success at whatever they set their minds to do.

I dream of the day in Nigeria where we finally live up to our potential – as citizens, leaders, countries, and as a Continent.

If our children and future generations witness Nigeria in the same conditions we have her today, then we would have failed them. That’s why I’d rather be here, speaking with like minds and putting my hands to the plow, than sitting at home being an arm chair critic.

We’re all here because we want to be a part of Changing Nigeria for the better. That’s why we are getting involved. Whether or not each person’s intentions are pure… only God would know… only Time will tell and only History will judge.

However I’d rather be a part of the movement for change, than be one of those that are content to sit back and criticize. I’d rather be a player on the field, or a coach, or a worker on the team, than be a fan in the stands, or home watching on tv.

One of my favorite sayings is “the best way to predict your future is to create it”. We can extend that to say that we must create the Nigeria that we want to live in. We must all speak up. We must all work for it. We must all stand up and be counted, if our dreams are to become reality.

Very insightful speech. I'm with you on this Banky!
