It’s safe to say that Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol is the biggest film of your career so far. Not every actress gets to be in a franchise that’s earned over $4 billion worldwide. Making Mission: Impossible was a dream come true. It challenged me as an actor because it’s so technical. Any time you’re challenged you get better. I learned so much from working with Tom Cruise—it was remarkable. Also, I got to do my own stunts, and that felt more freeing than anything I’ve ever done. To be able to be that physical was exciting.
This photo shoot proves, all of that time in the gym has definitely paid off. [Laughs.] And what’s crazy is that I haven’t always been this confident.
What brought about your newfound sense of confidence? Being honest with yourself as you get older, and after you live life longer. I’m more comfortable with my flaws now, and with that, you start to feel more confident. When you’re trying to hide all of your flaws, and you’re embarrassed by them, it can be so uncomfortable—very, very uncomfortable. You don’t know who you’re supposed to be. I just hit a certain point when I started to think, “You know what? These are my flaws, and I’m OK with them.” I love me! I’m doing the best I can with what I have. I’m not afraid to say that anymore. I feel comfortable in my own skin now.

On her relationship with the Black Eyed Peas: “If somebody had a bad day, we had the others to hold each other up. We went through so many unique experiences together that it’s really a beautiful thing…I choked up just the other night at Central Park when we did that show. These are great celebration of our friendship, and we know it’s going to be a while before this happens again, so we’re just taking it in right now and just really enjoying each moment.”
On the band’s big hiatus: “We worked really hard. There were days where we weren’t sleeping and were doing numbers of shows per day, and it was just go big or go home. We were just all hungry for it and doing it together. I won’t miss sleeping in different hotel rooms all the time. I want to be home because I moved into my house but I haven’t really been able to decorate it fully – just going to museums, going to art galleries, picking out art, thinks like that that I haven’t been able to do lately.”
On loving to watch the Miami Dolphins when she has downtime: “That’s just really cool for a fan to be able to call yourself an owner, but also, yeah, it is nice to get a box in Miami and take the whole family down on a party bus. Those are definitely perks. Ask any football fan – who wouldn’t want that?”

On wanting to be a mom someday: “Two kids would be good. Maybe three.”
On director Lars Von Trier’s outburst at the Cannes Film Festival:“He apologized, and obviously I forgave him. That’s just Lars, and he honestly, honestly didn’t mean what he said, but he just kept going, digging himself deeper.”
Rihanna has put her leaky mansion up for sale. The singer bought the house back in 2009 for $6.9 million and is now selling it for $4.5 million. She appears willing to take the loss after recently suing the former owners and developers because she said the house leaks like a sieve when it rains.
RiRi reveals in the listing that the house has “significant water intrusion & moisture issues throughout” as well as “encroachment issues.” The listing states the property may be “subject to short sale” and that the seller “will consider all offers.”
On rehab:”I thought I was going to lose everything when I checked myself into treatment. I didn’t know if I would have a career at all when I came home. So it really hit me – I hadn’t been grateful. I feel blessed when I get an opportunity now.”
On airing out her problems:”What teens need most is someone that they can relate to – someone they connect with on serious subjects like eating disorders, cutting, bipolar disorder, depression and bullying. I’ve been there. I get it. Why wouldn’t I be honest about it so I could help someone else?”
On staying healthy: “I can’t tell you how many people I have working with me in recovery. It’s good. It’s positive. [But] it’s a daily battle. Things can still get me down sometimes. But nothing keeps me down.”
On being Latina:“Latina culture means warm family gatherings, special stories and a bond that I love to experience. I feel so much love and comfort when I’m with [the Latino] side of my family. It makes me proud of my culture and my ethnicity.”
On her big career dreams: “In 2012, I really want to be at the Grammys. And I don’t want to go unless I’m nominated, presenting or performing. It’s my lifetime goal to be able to say I’m nominated.”

Davis and Spencer, the heart and soul of The Help, joined a diverse group who challenged themselves with performances as varied as a 19th century woman pretending to be a man (Glenn Close, 64, in Albert Nobbs), an out-of-control lounge singer with suicidal tendencies (Carey Mulligan, 26, in Shame; she also played a young mother in Drive), a mean-spirited and possibly ill YA novelist (Charlize Theron, 36, in Young Adult) and perhaps the most iconic woman in Hollywood history, Marilyn Monroe (Michelle Williams, 31, My Week With Marilyn). The roundtable took place Oct. 24 at Smashbox Studios in West Hollywood.
