One Lady Gaga is enough for most people, but fans were treated to three of them on Wednesday when the outlandish star posted a bizarre new shot on Twitter.
Lined up on a sofa it’s hard to discern the real thing from her two lifelike doppelgangers, as Gaga – that’s her in the middle – shows off the remarkable new listening stations devoted to her music and ideology.
The 27-year-old singer is currently in Japan while she promotes third album ARTPOP, and she’s devoted some of her time to the Japanese creators of the new GAGADOLL.
Intricately constructed from a bone conversion system, the music player enables the user to listen to her latest album in its entirety by placing an ear to its heart.
It also includes messages from the star, whose promotional campaign for ARTPOP is taking her across the globe.
In a tweet added to the latest shot on her Twitter account she writes: ‘Who needs barbies when you can own your own life size pop star that sings to you #gagadollz." Hey, Santa? Is it too late to add this to my Christmas list?’
Hand crafted: A special silicon was used to bring the new GAGADOLL to life
Here we go: Make-up is applied as craftsmen add the finishing touches in a new promotional video
Take that: The silicon that enables GAGDOLL to emulate the singer's facial expressions is applied
The GAGADOLL seated to her right wears the same garish trouser-suit she wore for the opening of a new H&M store in her native New York City on November 13.
Dressed in a smart white suit, the doll to her left is wearing the outfit used as a finishing touch in a recent promotional video, which reduces the entire painstaking process to a compressed 90-second montage.
The video ends with an awestruck Japanese fan leaning in for a listen, a look of apparent rapture on his face as the chorus of ARTPOP'S lead single Applause bursts out.
Sewn up: The lifelike doll is worked upon by a Japanese craftsman
Quite a procedure: The process involved is almost like surgery as GAGADOLL creators get to work
Intricate: Japanese craftsmen get to work on the production of the new GAGADOLL in a promotional video added to YouTube
The lifelike listening stations were crafted into the singer’s likeness with the aid of special silicon, which enables them to ape some of her facial expressions.
They also wear her trademark shades and killer heels, while the general flexibility of its limbs means it isn’t restricted to one position.
A source told MailOnline: 'It's currently purely promotional, and is still to be confirmed on whether it will be available to buy.'
On Wednesday Gaga also posted a shot in which she enjoys a pint of beer over dinner after selling more than a million copies of ARTPOP worldwide.
‘We’re listening to G.U.Y+celebrating over 1.2 million ARTPOP albums worldwide and 7 sold out shows at Roseland!’ she tweeted.
Despite reaching the landmark ARTPOP has failed to scale the heights achieved by its predecessor, Born This Way.
That album raked in 1.108 million units during its first week of sale in the United States.
The finished product: GAGDOLL promises its user a unique listening experience
Face to face: A fan looks at the new doll in awe
Hear to heart: Users can listen to music and messages from the star by placing an ear to its heart
Delight: The fan is given the GAGADOLL experience in a new promotional video uploaded to YouTube
